Since Charlotte has moved to dead center of my kitchen window, I check on her every morning to see what’s she’s up to. It lets me get up really close but still having a window between us. Kind of like the zoo. The past few mornings I see that her web is torn up. Just a few strands of its former self. It amazes me because every morning around the same time, Charlotte starts to remake her web, strand by strand, inch my inch. She doesn’t make it any smaller than the last one. She doesn’t make only a partial piece. She goes for the whole thing. She rebuilds it all and makes it look just as perfect as the time before. She does this every morning without fail. Yes, I realize she has to do this to survive, but for a brief moment I saw a parallel in her life and mine. No matter how torn up the web has been, no matter what shape it’s in or how often it is torn down, the web has to be rebuilt. Just like it was before. Maybe she’ll reposition it or make sure that one corner stays more secure for the next time, but she rebuilds it. She kind of gave me perspective today. And who thought a scary spider could give anyone perspective.
Champagne wishes and spider web dreams....

Charlotte totally has the secret of life clasped in her 8 little legs.
Clasped in her legs? That sounds so dirty.
She's a little slut, that Charlotte! :)
